Sadie Becnel is the Government Affairs Director and General Counsel of the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children.

Prior to joining the Policy Institute, Sadie was the legislative liaison for the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. At the department, she served as liaison to the state legislators and their staff to provide updates on current departmental news as well as the liaison between the department, other state agencies, and budgetary agencies. While at the department she also assisted in leading and coordinating the departments planning and policy section and agency staff on all legislative matters.

Sadie has also worked as a staff attorney for the Louisiana House of Representatives. While working for the legislature, Sadie has translated policy into law by drafting several pieces of legislation and provided legal advice to lawmakers. Sadie also assisted the House by formulating ideas and plans for professional development and training.

Sadie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University and her Juris Doctor degree from Southern University Law Center. Sadie is licensed to practice law and is a registered lobbyist in Louisiana.

Outside of work Sadie enjoys spending time with her family and is a dedicated Saints and LSU football fan.
