August 2023 Monthly Update
On August 24th, we hosted a candidate information webinar that provided candidates with information on the current condition of early care and education in our state. We wanted to ensure that candidates continue to have the necessary data and research to build their campaign platforms. Watch the recording here!
This month, our founder Melanie Bronfin was announced as a 2023 Angel Award recipient from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation which recognizes outstanding Louisianians who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the state’s children.
Next month, our partner Urban League of Louisiana is holding its annual Empowerment and Policy Conference from September 7th through September 8th. This statewide convening is designed to examine systems, influence policy decisions, and enact changes that will positively impact the African American and other underserved communities. I will be participating in the State of Early Care and Education in Louisiana Breakout Session with Thelma Harris French, President & CEO of Total Community Action, Inc.
