June 2026 Monthly Update
The 2026 Legislative Session brought real wins. With your support, LPIC helped secure funding and policies that will directly benefit Louisiana’s youngest children and the families and employers who depend on them.
With support from partners across the state, we helped preserve funding in the state budget for quality early childhood education, ensuring children are prepared for success, parents are supported, and employers have a reliable workforce. We also supported the creation of a unique identifier for publicly funded early childhood education programs. This will enable us to provide Louisiana-specific data to legislators, demonstrating the benefits of early childhood education for the state’s children. This data will support future funding requests by showing the return on investment for Louisiana’s children.
LPIC will be closed from June 29 to July 3 for our summer rest and recharge. We look forward to returning and continuing the work for our youngest learners and their families.
